Valentine’s Day just passed and the love in the air is dwindling. Hopefully, you received some beautiful flowers from your significant other that you can display around your home and keep it flowing. What’s better than seeing the sunlight bouncing off your colorful treasures and imprinting its glow on your space? Even more charming is seeing those fresh blooms contained in something delightful.
Yet, people end up succeeding to the household favorite — a generic glass vase. We all know the generic glass vase will do the job. It may even go well with your home’s style. Nevertheless, anyone who receives flowers will need something to put them in. So, let’s take it a step further and preserve those fresh flowers in something adorable. Your home and loved ones will thank you.
#1 – Coffee Pots
As this blog’s featured image suggests, flowers contained in coffee pots — old, new, unique, or memorable — will transform a space. And they’re easy to find too! Head out to your local thrift store, craft show, antique store, or wait until your neighbors put on yard sales to go coffee pot hunting. You may want to clear the area around the coffee-pot bouquet so that you don’t bump the protruding handles or lip.
#2 – Table-Top Box or Crate
You could also place your Valentine’s Day flowers in a wooden box or crate to display as a centerpiece on your dining room table. Although using a crate or wooden box may be the best idea if you have many flowers to present, there are other options. A piece of driftwood, logs, carved-out tree branches, and many more can adequately serve as additional “pots” capable of introducing new life to your home.
These table-top-box style centerpieces will add a touch of elegance to any meal. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor gatherings. And the wood’s pleasant, genuine appearance complements any plant, whether it’s a blazing red rose or a vivid succulent.
#3 – Food Vases
This idea may seem far-fetched, but the construction is completely reasonable. Start with purchasing two vases, one smaller than the other. You can even use containers lying around the house; just ensure one is smaller. Next, cut up any food you would like to see such as bright yellow lemon slices or chunks of watermelon, and start to fill the space created between containers.
After that, you can either fill the crevasses between the food with water or another liquid of your choice.
Note: If you decide to use a liquid other than water, you may experience discoloration in the food.
Then, simply place your Valentine’s Day flowers inside the smaller vase and add desired level of water and flower food.
Regardless of what food you use or where you put your creation once completed, one thing is for sure — people will love it! The innovative feel and the fact that absolutely no one is expecting this level of creativity will boost morale for everyone in the room. And you might just inspire someone else to try it too.
Yes, it is possible to go overboard when it comes to decorating. It is also equally easy to do the opposite. Nonetheless, these unique display ideas for preserving your Valentine’s Day flowers will keep spreading the love. Not to mention helping the person who gave the flowers feel special too.
